Past becomes future: Shapeways signs lease agreement for new European office in the historic TX building on Strijp-T in Eindhoven.
Shapeways, the engine behind digital production technologies, has signed a long-term lease agreement for a new manufacturing and office location in Eindhoven. This marks an important step in the company's continued investment in the European market.
The company will establish itself in Hall 4 of the historic TX machine factory at Strijp‑T, which is currently undergoing a large‑scale transformation. In addition to the sustainability upgrade of the nearly 300-metre-long industrial hall and the underlying basement, three office towers will be constructed on top of the building. A central meeting square will also be created, various studios will be added in the basement, and a spacious bicycle parking facility will be installed. Shapeways will become the third company that, starting in 2026 is established in the TX building.
In Shapeways' new space modern 3D printers will be installed, where in the past Philips manufactured machines for the production of precision equipment such as X-ray and television components.
Marleen Vogelaar, CEO of Shapeways: “A move always brings the past and the future together — it is a moment to look back on what has been achieved, and to look ahead to new opportunities. Since the relaunch last year the new management team of Shapeways has focused on a successful further growth in the 3D-printing market. The redevelopment of Strijp-T has a rich history with Philips, and we are delighted to now as one of the modern high-tech manufacturing companies take over and continue the baton of innovation at this location.
Boudie Hoogedeure of the Strijp-T development team: “Strijp-T focuses on innovative, creative high-tech manufacturing companies. We are therefore very pleased and proud to welcome Shapeways to Strijp-T. 3D printing technology is a prime example of the Make-Create-Innovate activity that forms the core of Strijp-T.”
Shapeways will modify the premises from the fourth quarter of 2025 to the first quarter of 2026 to meet production and operational needs, with the aim of fully relocating in the second or third quarter of 2026. The relocation will contribute to increased production capacity, more efficient work processes and a modern, inspiring working environment for its employees and customers.
The signing of the lease agreement was attended by the European leadership team of Shapeways, Bas Kratsborn (director of @GEVA) and members of the Strijp-T development team.
